What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a highly successful therapy that has been practiced for centuries. It is based on the well-founded premise that there is energy, called chi or qi, flowing through one’s body. Chi is understood to flow along energy pathways called meridians.
Acupuncturists believe a blocking or imbalance of the flow of chi at any point on a pathway may result in illness. Chinese medicine practitioners believe acupuncture unblocks and re-balances the flow of chi to restore health. It has also been shown to be effective in treating chronic, long-standing, back and neck pain and is used in our clinic in conjunction with Chiropractic adjustments.
Western scientists have verified that the stimulation of acupuncture points leads to physiological reactions such as changes in heart rate, blood pressure, brain activity, blood chemistry, endocrine function, intestinal activity, and immune-system function. Research also shows that it effectively treats medical conditions such as back, neck, and joint pain, headaches, asthma, allergies, arthritis, menstrual and infertility problems, insomnia, fibromyalgia, and sciatica.
Acupuncture needles are a far distant cousin to those that patients encounter in traditional doctor’s offices. The point is so fine that patients often feel little or no sensation upon insertion. During treatments, some patients experience a subtle warmth, pressure or tingling, while others feel nothing unusual.

I found Hatch Chiro and I’m so thankful. I’ve been seeing Dr. Beth for 4 months and have been to Dr. Avi – both are great! Dr. Beth is my primary doctor/chiropractor/spiritual guidance/fitness coach who is helping me on my fertility journey. She spent well over the time allotted on my initial appointment talking about my health and detailing my blood work. She was more detailed and helpful than my GP and rheumatologist!! She discovered abnormalities with my blood work, autoimmune disease, thyroid and has helped me pinpoint the cause of my infertility. She genuinely cares about me as a patient and helping me achieve my goal to be a mom! I’ve never experienced this with any health care provider before. The moment you walk into Hatch, you can tell how much she and the other staff care about the well-being of others. I recommend Hatch in the highest and am so blessed to have them helping me!!
